IFPRI-PNG has released its July 2026 quarterly newsletter, featuring a new blog post that focuses on the affordability of healthy diets among low-skilled wage workers in urban Papua New Guinea. The issue also includes details of a new peer-reviewed paper published in the Journal of Food Security that discusses healthy diet targets and poverty measurements in PNG. Additionally, it includes the first-quarter fresh food price bulletin, which provides food price trends from January to March across major markets in PNG. The newsletter highlights key events, including the food security simulator workshop conducted in Lae and Port Moresby in February–March, as well as the three-day pilot training on CGE model simulations conducted in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Monitoring to strengthen government capability in economic analysis. Lastly, it also reports on the progress of the household listing exercise conducted by IFPRI in collaboration with NARI in preparation for the upcoming Fresh Produce Value Chain survey.
